Foreword - Before the Madness

Well, I have actually lost my mind! In two days our family, one super cute hubby, one pre-teen daughter, one overly tired mom and twin 7 year old boys, will be heading up I-95 to visit family in New England. We will be driving a 26ft RV (compliments of my father-in-law). We chose this means of transportation simply out of necessity. We would have preferred to spend less time driving but, flying is NOT an option for our family. You see, we are currently under the influence of Autism. Autism, such a dirty little word. It took me a long time to use it in the same sentence with my sons, now It is the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing I think of at night. It was the very first thing I thought of when my father-in-law invited us to his home 1500 miles away. Yes, flying would have been faster but we would have never made it through airport security. I can see it now.........This just in, " a sixth grade special-ed teacher was just arrested after fist fighting airport security. Security was apparently trying to force his 7 year old Autistic son out of his shoes following routine terrorist screening. The boy was last seen screaming "mo-ca, mo-ca" at the metal detector. The boys twin brother, also on the Autism Spectrum, was detained for questioning he was displaying suspicious behavior, he had 9-volt batteries taped to his legs and was yelling" I want to be ELECTRICITY"!..........okay so I have a good imagination, but seriously this could happen to us.

Over the next few days, at the request of family, friends and people who just need a good laugh, I will attempt to blog about life on the road with our funny family. I hope it is entertaining. I hope we all come back alive. No really, I hope we do...................
